OneRoster school ID tied to configuration—with validation

Validate Your OneRoster School ID Against Configuration Before You Sync

A mismatch between the school ID in your OneRoster source data and the ID configured in PTC Wizard is one of those problems that's easy to create and expensive to discover—especially if you find out mid-sync that you've been loading data into the wrong school's event.

Pre-sync school ID validation

Roster administrators can now validate the school ID against the PTC Wizard configuration before triggering a sync. The validation check runs in seconds and surfaces any mismatch with a clear message—including what value was expected and what the source data contains—so the issue can be resolved in configuration rather than untangled in roster data.

This is particularly useful for districts onboarding new schools, where the school ID in the SIS and the ID entered during PTC Wizard setup may have been recorded differently. Run validation as part of your onboarding checklist for every new building.

For related sync diagnostics, see how an empty sync log signals a complete run—a common source of confusion when first setting up a new school.
